Miller heads south for Glory

Liam Miller will play his football in Australia next year after signing a two-year deal with Hyundai A-league side Perth Glory.
Miller (30) began his professional career with Celtic before seeing out his contract at Park head in order to complete a free transfer to Manchester United.
Opportunities were limited and the Corkman's career began a downward spiral. He helped Leeds United in the semi-finals of the Championship play-offs but then came an ill fated spell under Roy Keane at Sunderland.
Since leaving wearside, Miller has played with QPR and Hibernian, but now the chance to join the antipodean exodus has presented itself.
"I'm delighted to have Liam on board," said Glory's manager Ian Ferguson. "He is a quality player. Liam brings a lot of experience to the club and he's played at a number of top clubs. It's great to have a player of Liam's calibre at Perth Glory.

"He is a midfielder who gets forward and he'll help us become a more attacking team than last season."
The western Australia side will already be a familiar name to many fans on this side of the globe as former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler was the club's marquee name until recent months.
The move effectively shuts the door on Miller's international career. His last appearance for Giovanni Trapattoni's side came in the summer of 2009 when he was included in the squad despite having no club contract before his return to the SPL.
So, after such a turbulent few years the 30-year-old is understandably pleased to have some security ahead of him in much sunnier surroundings than eastern Edinburgh.
"I'm thrilled to be heading to Perth," Milller said. "I have heard a lot of wonderful things about the city of Perth but football is the most important thing."
